This submitted project proposes to study a practice of applying large quantities of sediment from dry river dams to agricultural fields, over the Berambadi catchment in South India, by exploring three complementary questions:
- Can we map this practice (in space and time) from multi-temporal images over several years and learn from it about spatial repartition and frequency of this practice?
- Does sediment from different tanks have similar physico-chemical composition? Which drivers may explain different physico-chemical compositions?
- Does this practice impact the soil physico-chemical composition in the short-term? In the long-term?
